Hair

Walk in,sit down.

Braids, weaves, locs and colour, with no appointment.

What that means

The salon, in Yaoundé, works natural hair and relaxed hair alike, and most requests come down to three things: braiding, weaving, maintaining. Simple or cornrowed braids, sewn-in or bonded weaves, locs to start or to retwist — we look at the scalp first, then decide together what will hold.

A protective style is not only a question of looks: braided too tight, it pulls and tires the root. We fit without forcing, even if it takes longer, and we will tell you plainly when a request risks damaging your hair.

Colouring and relaxing need hair in a condition to take them. If yours is weakened, we hold off on colouring and apply a treatment first, about ninety minutes.

The salon takes walk-ins: you come in, you sit down, you wait your turn. A long session — fine braids, a full weave — takes ten hours or more: for those, it is better to come in the morning.

How it works

  1. 01

    You walk in

No appointment to make. You sit down and wait your turn.

  2. 02

    We look at your hair

Length, root, condition of the scalp. That is what decides what is possible.

  3. 03

    We decide together

The style, the tension, how long it will take. The price is given before we start.

  4. 04

    We fit it

Without pulling on the root. We take the time it needs rather than tighten to go faster.

What people ask us

Do I need an appointment?

No, hair is taken as it comes. For a long session — fine braids, a full weave, ten hours or more — come in the morning if you can: the salon closes at 6pm.

Should I bring my own extensions?

You can bring your own, and the salon stocks them too. If you are buying them yourself, ask us the quantity and quality when you book: they depend on the style you want.

How long does a style last?

Allow four to six weeks for braids — less for some styles —, and two to six weeks for a weave. Beyond that it is no longer the style that suffers but the root: we would rather see you come back than leave it pulling.

Do you do children’s hair?

Yes, from about three years old, with loose styles and no tension. Bring something to keep them busy: a child’s patience is shorter than a braid.

Do you work on relaxed hair?

Yes, as on natural or already coloured hair. We look at the condition first: badly weakened hair goes into a treatment before it goes anywhere near colour.

Every day, from 8am to 6pm.
